Biography
Bilal Haider is the founder and director of Sharp Accountax. He is a chartered accountant and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, where he studied corporate law.
He has worked in accounting, financial reporting and tax since 2012, across four jurisdictions. The breadth is the point. It is the reason the firm is comfortable with group structures, cross-border positions, foreign currency and unusual reporting problems that practices of its size usually pass on.
Career
-
Sharp Accountax, London — Now
Since moving to the UK, he has worked as a client manager at a chartered accountancy practice, running a broad portfolio from preparation through review and filing, and as a Corporate Tax Advisor at a top-tier firm. He then founded Sharp Accountax.
As Director, he leads the firm's technical and advisory practice and the team delivering accounting, tax and compliance work for SME and owner-managed businesses. He advises on corporate tax and group structuring, capital allowances, share schemes and EMI valuations, R&D relief, VAT (including property, partial exemption and ecommerce), personal tax, residence and domicile, and HMRC enquiries and disclosures. He also looks after groups with operations in several jurisdictions. He handles their international tax matters and liaises with overseas advisers and authorities so that UK and foreign obligations are managed together.
He oversees the firm's accounting, payroll and VAT compliance services, and has deep systems expertise across Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, SAP and bespoke ERPs. He helps clients build finance processes and reporting that keep up as their businesses grow.
-
United States
His US experience combines senior in-house finance roles with ongoing work for US clients. At PCM Inc, a NYSE-listed technology company in Seattle, he was Senior Financial Analyst for revenue on the company's Microsoft business. He classified and reported revenue across Microsoft licensing programmes (MPSA, Campus, Select Plus and Enterprise Agreement Subscriptions), forecast monthly revenue and margin in SAP, resolved vendor incentive variances, and reported to sales and finance leadership within the control environment of a US-listed company.
He went on to serve as Senior Manager, Accounting and Finance, for a California financial services company. He led a team of six across the United States and Pakistan and was responsible for the full accounting cycle, cash flow management, corporate governance and internal audit. He also built financial and capital investment models to evaluate prospective investments.
Through Sharp Accountax he continues to act for US businesses and cross-border entities. This covers bookkeeping and financial reporting, payroll, and federal and state compliance. He has prepared and filed IRS Forms W-2 and W-3, 1099 and 1096, 1095-C and 1094-C, and 941 and 940. He has also registered clients for state unemployment insurance (SUTA) and sales and use tax across several states, obtained seller's permits, set up state tax IDs on payroll platforms, and dealt directly with state revenue departments on enforcement matters and levies.
-
Canada
From January 2017 to December 2023 he worked as a fractional Financial Controller with Adaptive Controllers, a Canadian finance practice, alongside his US roles. His clients included a large financial management company, where he handled its investments in ventures in the care and assisted living sector, and a business in the oil and gas sector. For more than four years he also ran the full-cycle accounting for a Saskatchewan-based national charitable organisation with lodges across Canada. That work covered GST/HST returns, payroll, annual filings with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and liaison with external auditors through each year-end.
-
Islamabad, Pakistan
He began his career in Islamabad as Assistant Finance Manager at a leading pharmaceutical company. There he prepared statutory accounts, ran tax compliance and coordinated the year-end audit. He then joined Ernst & Young (EY) in audit and assurance, working on statutory audits of large corporate clients.
Sharp Accountax is regulated by the ICAEW, holds Authorised Training Employer status, is registered with HMRC as a tax agent and is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider with Companies House. Bilal built the practice around a straightforward principle: the person who reviews your file should be the person who answers the phone.

In their words
Working with Bilal was an excellent experience from start to finish. He handled both my business accounts and personal tax matters with real professionalism and care. He's been reliable, thorough, and easy to communicate with, and I've been consistently impressed with the results. If you're looking for an accountant who knows what he's doing and delivers, Bilal is the person for the job. Highly recommended.
Excellent work Bilal prepared and accounts and CT600 filings for two of my ecommerce businesses, and also reviewed accounts that had been filed incorrectly before he came on board. He spotted the errors, explained what was wrong and why it mattered, and dealt with the amended returns. My records were multi currency and across several payment platforms. He reconstructed everything from source, queried anything he was not sure about, and gave me clear workings at the end. Qualified chartered accountant running an ICAEW regulated firm, straight talking, no chasing needed. Highly recommended.
Having previously worked with two accounting agencies, I struggled to find someone who was both knowledgeable and genuinely easy to work with. Bilal is a clear communicator and makes himself available when needed. When I asked for specific tax advice, he researched the issue thoroughly and came back with a detailed report, which was extremely helpful. He is also very patient and understanding, especially when I have been delayed on my side. I have never felt pressured or received any attitude, which makes a huge difference. Excellent accountant and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended!
